Not only were there opportunist builders taking advantage of quick money and leaving disasters behind them, you also have the group housing side of the of the industry were I see a major flaw is that the majority of the work is carried out by a contract builder who is on a set square metre rate and the only way to make a profit is to rush the job. Don’t trust that because it is a new house you are getting a good job, there needs to have been a quality audit on the build.
